After winter break, the girls at the very prestigious Longbourn Academy become obsessed with the prom. Lizzie Bennet, who attends Longbourn on a scholarship, isn’t interested in designer dresses and expensive shoes, but her best friend, Jane, might be — especially now that Charles Bingley is back from a semester in London.
Lizzie is happy about her friend’s burgeoning romance but less than impressed by Charles’s friend, Will Darcy, who’s snobby and pretentious. Darcy doesn’t seem to like Lizzie either, but she assumes it’s because her family doesn’t have money.
My Thoughts!!!
First, the cover is a bit misleading. The book is nothing about finding the perfect prom dress or the perfect guy.
People judge other people before they even get to know them. That's what the book is about two people who judged each other on the amount of money they had. You can't label people because someone is not just one thing. They are a mixture of things. Just because someone doesn't have money doesn't mean they are not talented, intelligent, or loyal and just because one person has a lot of money doesn't make them snobby, pretentious or arrogant. There are bad people in the world but there are good ones too.
