Victoria Seaton was born and raised in Portage, New York in the early 1800’s. She was orphaned at the young age of 18, when her parents were killed in a carriage accident. With no family left in America, and no immediate marriage prospects, Victoria and her younger sister, Dorothy are sent off to England to live with distant relatives there. Relatives they have never met or even heard mention of… and apparently relatives of great rank and wealth.
Jason Fielding, the Marquess of Wakefield, was an extremely wealthy and arrogant man. Having survived a troubled childhood and then the loss of his wife and son, he was determined to live his life out alone, pouring himself into his work and his fortunes, to fill the void of his blackened heart.
My Thoughts...
Once and always is amazing. It is my new favorite book because I learned a lot from it. I learned that people have a lot to say or tell and if we just listen it can change everything. Its amazing how much people are willing to tell you if you just ask. I also learned that you can't judge people. Its so funny how fast people are ready to judge other people on the mistakes they have made and when it comes to them they just except other people to understand. Gandhi once said "Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes." I learned to be kind to unkind people because they need it the most.
